How is the median found when the list has an even count of numbers?
With an even count there are two middle values, so the tool averages them. For 2, 4, 6 and 8 the two middle values are 4 and 6, giving a median of 5.
What happens when more than one number appears most often?
When several values tie for the highest frequency they are all reported as modes. If every value appears exactly once the set has no mode, and the tool says so instead of inventing one.
Can I enter negative numbers and decimals?
Yes. Paste or type comma-, space- or line-separated values; decimals like 4.5 and negatives like -2 are parsed correctly and every statistic updates instantly.
What is the difference between GCF and LCM?
The GCF (greatest common factor) is the largest whole number that divides every value in the set, while the LCM (least common multiple) is the smallest whole number that every value divides into evenly. For 12 and 18 the GCF is 6 and the LCM is 36.
