Edit Photos With Instructions: Type It, Get It Done

Editing a photo usually means opening a full editor, hunting through menus for "adjustments", and clicking through sliders. The Auto Editor takes the opposite approach: you type what you want in plain English — "make it grayscale", "rotate 90 degrees", "crop to square" — and the editor applies it for you.

Tool for this guide: Auto Editor — edit your photos by typing instructions, free and in your browser.

What can you type?

The editor understands everyday language for common photo tasks. A few examples:

make it grayscale
rotate 90 degrees
flip horizontally
crop to square
resize to 800px wide
add blur
pixelate it
make it sepia
brighten by 20%
convert to jpg

How it works

  1. Open Auto Editor and drop in a photo.
  2. Type an instruction in the box, such as "make it black and white".
  3. Click Run Edit. The editor loads a full image engine in the background and applies your instruction.
  4. Preview the result and download it. You can keep typing new instructions and run them one after another.

Everything runs on your device. Your photo is never uploaded to a server, so the Auto Editor works even for private or sensitive images.

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The entire edit runs inside your browser. Your photo never leaves your device, which is what makes the tool private and fast.

Can I edit videos this way?

Not yet. The Auto Editor currently works with photos (PNG, JPG, WebP). For extracting audio from a video, try Extract Audio from Video instead.

Can I add text to an image?

Yes. Type something like "add text hello at the top" to place a caption on your image.
