Edit Photos With Instructions: Type It, Get It Done
Editing a photo usually means opening a full editor, hunting through menus for "adjustments", and clicking through sliders. The Auto Editor takes the opposite approach: you type what you want in plain English — "make it grayscale", "rotate 90 degrees", "crop to square" — and the editor applies it for you.
What can you type?
The editor understands everyday language for common photo tasks. A few examples:
make it grayscalerotate 90 degreesflip horizontallycrop to squareresize to 800px wideadd blurpixelate itmake it sepiabrighten by 20%convert to jpgHow it works
- Open Auto Editor and drop in a photo.
- Type an instruction in the box, such as "make it black and white".
- Click Run Edit. The editor loads a full image engine in the background and applies your instruction.
- Preview the result and download it. You can keep typing new instructions and run them one after another.
Everything runs on your device. Your photo is never uploaded to a server, so the Auto Editor works even for private or sensitive images.
Types of edits you can apply
- Color — grayscale, invert (negative), sepia, or make colors pop.
- Transform — rotate 90 or 180 degrees, flip horizontally or vertically.
- Resize & crop — resize to a width, to exact dimensions, by a percentage, or crop to a square or custom size.
- Effects — blur, pixelate, brighten or darken by an amount.
- Text — add a caption at the top, bottom, or center with a chosen font size.
- Format — convert between PNG, JPG, and WebP.
Tips for getting the result you want
- Be specific about numbers. "Brighten by 20%" gives a predictable result; a vague "make it brighter" uses a default amount.
- Mention the dimension. "Resize to 1200px wide" keeps the original height ratio automatically.
- Combine steps one at a time. Apply one instruction, download the result, and re-run for the next step when you need full control.
- Use "convert to" for format. "Convert to webp" or "convert to jpg" saves the output in that format.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The entire edit runs inside your browser. Your photo never leaves your device, which is what makes the tool private and fast.
Can I edit videos this way?
Not yet. The Auto Editor currently works with photos (PNG, JPG, WebP). For extracting audio from a video, try Extract Audio from Video instead.
Can I add text to an image?
Yes. Type something like "add text hello at the top" to place a caption on your image.
